Pachermo Peak

Introduction

Pachermo Peak is located on the border of the Rolwaling and Everest region. It is a light technical peak to climb. The challenge of this climbing adventure is its remote location and the crossing of the technical Tashi Labtsa pass.

Pachermo Peak Overview

In Kathmandu, we start by checking all gear and obtaining the permits. After that, a private drive will bring you to the starting point of your Pachermo Peak adventure. In the first days, you’ll trek the off-beaten trails into the remote Rolwaling Valley. Soon, the trek begins beneath the imposing presence of Mount Gaurishankar. At Na Goan, you’ll enjoy an acclimatization day.

In the following days, we’ll camp during the trek until we’ve reached Thame in the Everest region. Soon after you have left Na Goan, you’ll reach Tsho Rolpa Lake. At an elevation of 4580 m, it sprawls across the valley floor, one of the largest glacial lakes in the Himalayas. The next two days are glacier hiking and climbing. Here, the climbing sections have recently been updated with fixed via ferrata ropes. This also applies to the descending sections on the other side of the Tashi Labtsa pass. In addition, an emergency bivak shelter hut has been built near the Drolambu glacier.

Before you start the final ascent to the summit of the Pachermo Peak, you have to cross the Tashi Labtsa pass. Then, you leave early in the morning for the peak climb. First, back to the pass, then a steep climb towards the summit. From the Pachermo Peak, you have a stunning view of the famous mountains like Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu. On a clear day, you can even see Dhaulagiri in the far distance. After savoring the views, we’ll carefully descend back to high camp.

In the following days,  you slowly descend and hike to the village of Thame and onwards to Namche Bazaar. This large Sherpa village is great for a well-deserved resting day, and you can already start your souvenir shopping out here. Finally, we’ll slowly trek towards Lukla, where your Pachermo Peak climbing adventure ends. Here, a flight will take you back to Kathmandu.
