Home Peak Climbing & Expedition Lobuche East Peak 6119m and Everest Base Camp
This Lobuche East Peak climbing adventure will firstly take you to the famous Everest Base Camp and onwards to the summit of the peak. Situated close to the Khumbu Glacier, this mountain has two main peaks, Lobuche Far East and Lobuche East. The massive top stands tall at 6119 m and is somewhat secluded.
From the summit, you‘ll have close views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Cholatse, and Pumori. n comparison, Lobuche East Peak is more technical than the other two famous trekking peaks, Island Peak and Mera Peak. This climb is moderately challenging, but does not require any specialized training or experience. Typically, the standard route follows the Southeast Ridge.
Upon your arrival in Nepal, we’ll do a gear check and finalize the permits. The Lobuche East Peak adventure begins with the flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. First, you’ll hike to Namche Bazaar, which serves as the bustling center in the Everest region. From here, we’ll have a day hike in the surrounding area for acclimatization.
Next, you’ll follow the famous trail to Everest Base Camp. After several days of hiking, you’ll arrive at this legendary destination. A visit to base camp will inspire you, but it also serves as a crucial acclimatization stop at high altitude.
After Gorakshep, you’ll hike on a moraine path towards the Lobuche high camp. At this altitude, the tented high camp is near a lake in a rocky hollow at the base of the glaciated southwest face. Early in the morning, we’ll leave the high camp for your ascent to the summit.
Generally, using the south ridge to the summit is the easiest and also the most popular route. From the summit of Lobuche East Peak, you’ll have amazing views of the famous Everest, alongside Lhotse, Nuptse, and Pumori. After descending to high camp, you’ll hike back to Lukla for your flight to Kathmandu.
