The Namo Buddha day hike in the Kathmandu Valley is perfect for a short day activity without the city’s crowds. We pick you up from your hotel at 09:00 am. It is an hour drive to Dhulikhel. From the edge of a ridge, Dhulikhel offers a wonderful mountain panorama. On a clear day, you can see the mountains of Langtang and even Numbur mountain in the Everest region. Your day hike starts in this Newari town. From Dhulikhel, you will hike through hillside terraced farm fields and a couple of temples.

After four hours hiking, your day trip ends in Namobuddha. An important Buddhist pilgrimage site situated at an elevation of 1750 meters, about 40km away from the heart of Kathmandu city. The area is quiet and refreshing, and is surrounded by Tamang settlements. Namo Buddha offers wonderful views of the downhill terrain and the skyline. Namo Buddha means “Greetings to the Lord Buddha.” This ancient holy site signifies the place where a legendary prince named Mahasattva offered himself to a starving tigress with several underfed cubs. In the late afternoon, your private transport will bring you back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
