Rolwaling Valley trek

Rolwaling Valley trek is an undiscovered teahouse trek in a rugged and remote region. It takes you through thick forest and along small local Sherpa settlements. At Na Goan you will stay a few nights for day hikes to beautiful Tsho Rolpa lake and the Yalung Ri base camp.

By jeep you travel trough the foothills to Jagat. The Rolwaling Valley trek starts not far from this local village. At Simigoan you already will be treated with a stunning view of the mighty mount Gaurishankar. Through local forest you hike to the settlement of Dokhang. The teahouses are located right next to the local river. Beding and Na Goan are typical Sherpa villages in the valley. The monastery of Beding is interesting for a visit. At Na Goan you will stay a few nights for some great day hikes. First day hike takes you to Tsho Rolpa Lake which is located further up the valley. The views from the lakeshore towards the massive Trakarding Glacier are overwhelming. Second day hike takes you to Yalung Ri base camp. A steep zig zag path ascents towards the peaks. Even if you do not get all the way to base camp, the views into the valley are well worth the climb. After that you track towards the lovely village of Simigoan. Nearby this village the Rolwaling Valley trek ends and soon you have descended to Chhetchhet you will be driven back to Kathmandu.
