Home Annapurna & Mustang Mohare Danda Community Trek
The Mohare Danda Community Trek is new in the Annapurna region. This trail operates as a community trek. Along the way, you’ll sleep in teahouses managed by local Gurung and Magar communities. Despite being in the heart of the popular Annapurna region, Mohare Danda is far less crowded than the famed trails in the region. At dawn, from Mohare Danda and the tranquil Muldai Peak, you will enjoy a lovely sunrise. This locally run project stands out in Nepal. Better yet, ensuring tourism benefits reach every household in the village.
The Mohare Danda Community trek starts at Nayapul, not far from Pokhara. First, the trail passes through rhododendron and pine forest. After a few days hiking past local villages, you will reach Mohare Danda. Perched high, the community lodge stands on a steep ridge and offers beautiful vistas of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. From this vantage point, famous mountains like Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna South (7219m) and Annapurna I (8091m) are all in this viewpoint.
From Mohare, you’ll hike over the famous Poon Hill towards Dobato. Next, it is only an hour climb to the Muldai Peak for another spectacular sunrise view. After that, you hike through the forest again towards the next gem spot. Along the way, little Paradise is a great name for a lovely teahouse tucked away on a hilltop.
Upon reaching Ghandruk, you’ll see original local Guring houses. Upon arrival, it is a treat to walk through the village with its authentic houses. Here, the Mohare Danda Community Trek ends, and a jeep will take you back to Pokhara.
