The Annapurna Sanctuary trek in Nepal starts near Pokhara, where you can see the snowy mountain peaks. This popular trek takes you to the heart of the Annapurna mountain range, the Annapurna Base Camp. This horseshoe-shaped area is considered sacred by the local Nepalese, who call it the sanctuary. But first, a stunning sunrise from Poon Hill. Along the trail, you pass rice terraces and see the village life of the local Nepalese inhabitants. At the highest point of this trek, the Annapurna Sanctuary at 4095 meters, you will be treated to a panoramic view of all the majestic mountains of the region.
From Kathmandu, you travel by bus or plane to Pokhara. The town of Pokhara lies next to the beautiful Phewa Lake, and from here you can see all the snowcapped mountain peaks of the Annapurna region. Not far from Pokhara, the trek to the base camp starts. Already at day one, you have amazing views of the characteristic Machapuchare mountain, also known as Fishtail mountain.
While hiking through the rich rhododendron forests, you will constantly see Machapuchare’s special contours. In Ghorepani, we get up early to walk up to Poon Hill. From here, the sunrise on the entire Annapurna mountain range is a most impressive spectacle. The Annapurna mountains, Dhaulagiri and Machapuchare, you will see them from this exquisite spot.
At Chomrong, you enter the area of the sanctuary. After a few days of climbing, crossing rivers and forests, you will notice a temperature change. Because of the altitude, the temperature drops. On the trail to Annapurna Sanctuary, you’ll pass by the Machapuchare base camp. At the horseshoe-shaped area of the sanctuary, you are surrounded by the impressive mountain peaks. This impressive sight is a sight you will not easily forget.
After visiting the sanctuary, the trail takes you back to Chomrong. Onward, you walk the hiking trail back to the road, where a car will bring you to Pokhara. In Pokhara and the Phewa Lake, you can reflect on the beautiful trek.

Day 4: Drive to Hille ( 2,5 hrs.), and trek to Ulleri (1960 m – 3 hrs.)
Day 5: Trek to Ghorepani (2874 m – 5 hrs.)
Day 6: Climb to Poon Hill (3119 m) for sunrise, and trek to Tadapani (2721 m- 5 hrs.)
Day 7: Trek to Chomrong ( 1951 m – 6 hrs.)
Day 8: Trek to Dovan ( 2130 m – 6 hrs.)
Day 9: Trek to Machapuchare Base Camp ( 3720 m – 6 hrs.)
Day 10: Trek to the Annapurna Sanctuary ( 4095 m – 4 hrs.)
Day 11: Trek to Bamboo ( 2050 m – 6 hrs.)
Day 12: Trek to Jhinu Danda ( 1700 m – 6 hrs.)
Day 13: Trek to Pitam Deurali (2100m – 6 hrs.)
Day 14: Trek to Kande (1770m – 4 hrs.) and drive to Pokhara
Day 15: Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu (6 hrs.)
Day 16: Free day at leisure in Kathmandu
Day 17: Departure; pick up from the hotel and drop off at the international airport
During the trekking season, prices may rise. The final price depends on the trekking season, group size and the cost of local transfers.
