Mustang is a remote former kingdom, north of the Annapurna massif. The area has an inimitable mysticism and is unique in Nepal. Mustang is ,geographically, the extension of the Tibetan plateau and lies in the shadow of the Annapurna Mountains. The surrealistic landscapes are formed by drought and wind. Tibetan Buddhism still lives heavily among the population. During your trek you will visit a number of monasteries and visit the authentic villages. During the trip you will also be treated to panoramic views of the Annapurna massif and the Dhaulagiri summit.

Sherpa Heritage Trails will pick you up from Tribuvan International airport and take you a comfortable 3* Hotel in Kathmandu. Your first day you can recover from your flight. Kathmandu has plenty of cultural sites to explore. From Kathmandu you travel to Pokhara by tourist bus. From Pokhara you can see all the mighty peaks of the Annapurna region.  It’s the gateway to the world-famous treks in and around the Annapurna range and beyond. But a walk along the shores of Phewa Lake is very pleasant as well. From Pokhara you travel by plane to Jomsom. From Jomsom you trek to Kagbeni, the beginning and end of Upper Mustang. The first days there is a lot of climbing along some villages. The area receives little rain and the color landscapes are therefore particularly photogenic. Eventually you walk in the walled town of Lo Manthang. The king of the small kingdom of Mustang passed away in 2016. There are many temples and the monks live scattered throughout the town. During your resting day, you have all the time to watch Lo Manthang and its surroundings. From Lo Manthang, the hiking trip follows a different hiking trail. And there will be a long hiking day. But because you are already well-acclimatized, this usually causes few problems. From Jomsom you return to the green lush valley of Pokhara and the calming Phewa Lake. It is possible to extend your stay in Pokhara for more leisure and relaxing. From Pokhara you drive back by tourist bus to Kathmandu. Here you will enjoy your stay again in a comfortable Hotel. You can visit some lovely cultural sites and do some souvenir shopping before Sherpa Heritage Trails says goodbye to you.
