The Annapurna Circuit tour is a classic trek and is one of the most popular trips in Nepal. No wonder, because it is a spectacular and varied trekking route. During this trek, you get the chance to explore the Himalayas from bottom to top. Starting in the subtropical lush green valley’s you climb up to alpine valleys to reach the Thorung La pass at 5416 meters. After the pass, it is downhill towards Poon Hill where you will be treated to an impressive sunset over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain range.

Your Annapurna Circuit tour starts with a drive-by tourist bus to Besisahar and onwards to Dharapani. First, you hike through tropical bamboo forests and pass by local farm villages. In the green valley, you hike besides rushing streams and deep pools shaped by the water. Once up in the valley, the scenery changes and the climb towards Thorung La pass is slowly setting in. Manang is a perfect stop for an acclimatization day and you can opt for a walk to the alpine Braga valley. At this part of the Annapurna Circuit tour, Buddhism is shown everywhere with mani walls, chortens and countless fluttering prayer flags. From Manang, you ascend in a few days to the high Thorung La pass at an altitude of 5416 meters. The pass is often covered with snow and offers stunning views of some famous mountain peaks like the distinct shaped Dhaulagiri. After the pass, you descend towards Muktinath. A holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. Towards Poon Hill, you are once back in the lush green forests and sunrise from the hill is memorable. The Annapurna Circuit tour ends in Birethanti where a taxi will take you to the shores of Phewa Lake in Pokhara. Soon you are back in Kathmandu for some final souvenir shopping.
